Steve Grotowski

Director of the AVP Academy Palm Beach and FAU Assistant Coach

Coach Grotowski has been playing professional beach volleyball on the AVP and internationally on the FIVB World Tour for over a decade. In 2012, Grotowski earned a berth to the London Olympics where he competed for his native Great Britain. In addition to an extensive playing career, he has also coached junior volleyball for boys and girls since 2000. Born in London, England, Grotowski has lived in South Florida for over 25 years. He is married to FAU Head Beach Volleyball Coach, Capri Grotowski. They reside in Boynton Beach with their two children Cayd and Kyah.

Kaya Marciniak

Kaya Marciniak joined the AVP Academy coaching staff in the spring of 2016.

Marciniak (nèe Sowala) was born in Poland where she received her Bachelor’s degree in physical education. When she began her professional beach career, she was given the chance to represent her home country of Poland on the FIVB Swatch Tour between 2009-12. In 2014, Marciniak received her Master’s degree in sport business management from Webber International University. She began her collage coaching career in 2017 and is still working with the FAU beach volleyball program as an assistant coach. Marciniak is married to fellow AVP professional Piotr Marciniak.

Piotr Marciniak

Piotr Marciniak was named head coach of the AVP Academy program in the winter of 2016.

Coach Marciniak was born and raised in Poland and began playing volleyball at the age of 13. Marciniak began playing indoor professionally in 2004 and played for the Polish National Team from 2005-2006. Between 2010 and 2011, he competed for top Egyptian professional indoor team. After moving to the United States in 2012 to pursue his Master’s degree, Piotr transitioned to beach volleyball playing on the AVP tour and successfully taking three top 5 finishes. Piotr loves to play golf in his free time and hang out with his dog BooBoo:)
